Transport To And Between The Cape Verde Islands
Air Travel To The Islands
At present, all international flights operated to the islands of Sal. From here it is possible to travel to Boavista.
TACV – Cape Verde Airlines is the country’s own airline. At present, TACV operate international flights from Paris, Amsterdam, Boston, Fortaleza, Lisbon, Milan, Madrid and Munich all year round. Departures from additional European points are available seasonally. TACV operate a Boeing 757 aircraft on most international routes. It is possible to travel from the UK to Cape Verde Islands via one of these European cities. Selected regional departures are available. Alternatively, your travel arrangements can commence in Europe. In addition TACV operate a regular service from Dakar, Senegal to Praia located on the island of Santiago. If you would like to upgrade, Executive class is available on most TACV international flights.
TAP – Air Portugal operate a regular service from London Heathrow or London Gatwick via Lisbon. If you would like to upgrade, TAP – Air Portugal offer a Navigator Class on the International flights between Lisbon and Sal.
Portugal Airlines operate a regular service from Manchester to Lisbon. At Lisbon you would then join the TACV or TAP Air Portugal service from Lisbon to the island of Sal.
Inter Island Travel by Air
TACV – Cape Verde Airlines operate regular internal flights between most islands. Currently, the inter island fleet is made up of three ATR 42 aircraft. If you choose to travel internationally with TACV you will qualify for an air-pass. The air-pass allows you to save money on the normal fares for each journey taken. Up to 10 coupons can be purchased. However, please note the itinerary most be specified in advance. Alternatively, individual sector fares can be purchased for each flight. An air charter can also be arranged providing transport between islands for groups of up to 18 people.

Cape Verde Island Entry Requirements
All nationals require a full passport valid for a minimum of 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from Cape Verde. All nationals require a visa to enter Cape Verde. There is no Cape Verde Consulate representative in the UK. However of you make a reservation with Cape Verde Travel, they will arrange an entry visa on your behalf.
